Knowing your Worth Seminars— All about Self-Worth!

Knowing your worth means valuing who you are, what you do, what you bring, by yourself and for yourself.

Embracing your worth unlocks your creativity, your potential. It allows you to take the right decisions for yourself, to find the place where you truly belong and thrive.

Self-worth is the foundation for individual fulfilment – as well as the cornerstone of success for teams, projects organisations.

Self-worth plays an essential role for harmony and cohesion within a team - strengthening connections, enhancing group dynamics, fostering a strong team culture whilst enriching projects.

 Yet self-worth is rarely taught or nurtured, whether at school or in the workplace, and tends to be buried under a vast array of limitations.

This is why I created Knowing your Worth: to bring back self-worth at the heart of people’s and organisations’ development.

The seminars raise awareness of the limitations stemming from conditioning, limited thinking, false beliefs, low self-esteem – along with their impact on self-worth and the workplace.

Using topics inspired by common workplace situations - and my 15 years of experience in the public and private sectors - I share in-depth perspectives, with concrete examples, illustrating the foundational role of self-worth in the workplace, both at the individual and collective levels.

I offer practical recommendations and tools to enhance everyday work and cultivate self-worth, equipping participants with keys for their professional fulfilment.

The seminars can be tailored to a wide range of audiences: from soon-to-be graduated to members of associations, professional networks, and organisations across the public and private sectors. Everyone benefits from learning how to break free from limitations and nurture self-worth!

So, for every organisation planning their 2026 events, what about adding self-worth on the agenda? Do get in touch *mariecletienne@gmail.com* I’d be very happy to explore with you how to feature the power of self-worth in your projects.

Newsletter Fourth Edition - December 2025

Welcome to the fourth edition of Knowing your Worth Newsletter!

As the change of season is well under way, I felt inspired by nature: the leaves falling, as trees are letting go of what they don’t need anymore to fully regenerate, the animals preparing their nest as they’re about to enter hibernation...

Whilst the shorter days, the lack of sun/light, the cold, can all make this time of the year feel rather grim, I find it reassuring – and empowering altogether. It is a moment to be kind to ourselves. A moment to let go of what is holding us back. A moment to slow down and focus on what matters truly.

That’s why this last edition of 2025 is all about embracing this season, as a season bringing serenity and peace - along with new aspirations.

I hope you find it inspiring – and comforting!

This time of the year can be challenging for many of us: our energy levels are lower, it’s the mighty season of colds and viruses, and as the days go darker, so might our thoughts. Especially with the holiday season around the corner: a difficult time for many, rarely relaxing, and followed by what feels an endless month - January.

I see this time of the year as the perfect opportunity to learn to be kind to ourselves. We are often very good at offering kindness, compassion and time to others – our parents, partner, kids, friends, colleagues – forgetting ourselves in the process.

Being kind to yourself goes a long way - bringing countless positive changes: from being able to look back at the past year without judgement, letting go of what’s hindering you; to being in the present, listening to yourself and doing more things for you; to reconnecting with your deep aspirations for the year ahead.

Just like leaves falling – time to let go of what’s not needed

As we enter the month of December, many will start thinking about these resolutions made some twelve months or so ago – and will start comparing themselves to that check list. Have they learned a new language, joined a gym, and sticked to it? Have they been promoted, changed job or launched their company? Maybe all the boxes will be ticked, maybe half, maybe none.

This is the very first leaf to let go of: the ticking box lists and the relentless pressure that goes with them. It’s wonderful to have goals, as long as they remain uplifting and give a sense of direction. As opposed to being unrealistic objectives turning into obligations and mental bullies. As the saying goes – it’s all about the journey!

The other leaf to let go of is the comparisons. Comparisons to your old you, to your peers, to your family members, to your school mates... This time of the year is a classic ‘compare time’ - which is great for gifts prices, or energy bills. But not for people. We are all unique! Which makes comparison absolutely pointless. So, time to stop comparing yourself – and ignore any family member who might do so during the upcoming reunion. You are unique!

Behind these comparisons, and the relentless lists, is something we all do: judging! We are all world champions at judging ourselves – how we are ‘not good enough at this’, or ‘could have done this better’... Judgement always finds its way in. But the more you notice it and close the door to it, the more fulfilled you become. So, time to close that door!

Final leaf: the fears. The fear of not measuring up, the fear of failure, the fear of change... And all these limitations – stemming from conditioning, limited thinking, false beliefs, low self-esteem - that prevent us from embracing our worth, unlocking our potential and thriving fully. What will be the leaf you are ready to let go of?

Just like hedgehogs hibernating - time to slow down and focus on you

Whilst spring and summer feel energising and buzzing, winter is the season to slow down, to cozy up on a sofa with a blanket and a fire on (whether real, or on TV..!). It’s the time to focus on you and take time for yourself – so you can reflect on the year that has gone by, and start preparing the new one.

Instead of starting by judging what didn’t go according to plan, start looking at all your achievements – big or small! Look at where you were a year ago, and where you are now. We often underestimate what we accomplish. It’s time to look back with joy and pride!

When turning to things that didn’t go as you had wished for, the key is observing. Observing doesn’t mean judging! It’s like being a spectator at the theatre, watching the plot unfold. This will allow you to gain new perspectives on the various situations you experienced – and what you could have done differently for yourself, and around others.

This reflection will create the perfect ground to start thinking about what your aspirations are for the year to come. Not the endless unrealistic lists! More like planting seeds. Whether it is indeed learning a new language or new skills, changing team, or looking for a new job, or even launching your own venture. Whatever it is that inspires you, gives you energy, and makes you happy – and all the way through: from planting that very seed, to nurturing it and seeing it grow!

~~~
 This period is a great opportunity to finish the year feeling at peace and start the new one in serenity. But it can feel a bit overwhelming too – and for a lot of different reasons. So, for every person ready to let go of the endless lists, the fears, the judgement – but not sure where to start: I am here. Ready to help you reveal these limitations and empower you to rediscover your worth. So that 2026 becomes the year of your professional fulfilment – and more!
~~~

Time to wrap up for now. I hope this 2025 final edition will have offered some warm ideas for a smooth end of the year, and a brilliant one to come.

As ever, feel free to share this newsletter more widely, and to let me know your thoughts, including on LinkedIn - always happy to exchange :)

Looking forward to staying in touch. In the meantime, take good care of yourselves: be kind to yourselves, and take time for you!

Warmly,

Knowing your Worth 1-1 Session — A safe space

The workplace can be a complex landscape, challenging to navigate.

This is one of the reasons why I created Knowing your Worth: to help people find their place and thrive.

I designed the 1-1 sessions to offer what I lacked throughout my career – a safe space where you can:
✨ openly share what you are experiencing at work – the aspirations, the doubts, the fears, the disappointments, the frustrations… without fearing to be judged;
✨ untangle difficult situations and decrypt the dynamics at stake – getting new perspectives about your environment and about yourself, without being judged.

Yet a lot of people still view mentoring or coaching as a sign of weakness – or associate it with therapy, and having to unpack everything.

When seeking support is a sign of strength – and the best possible investment… an investment in yourself!

We actually all have the solutions in us – but we often don’t know where to start.

The support I offer is designed to make you gain clarity and time – and to help you break free of something we all do: judging ourselves!

The 1-1 sessions act as a catalyst – with you at the helm!
🌱 Based on what you share, I bring new perspectives on the situations you are facing;
🌱 I help you reveal what is blocking you (consciously or not);
🌱 I offer you tailored and practical recommendations – which we always discuss, making sure you are comfortable – so you can overcome these limitations.

Our exchanges make you feel at peace and more confident – empowering you to take the decisions that are right for you.

The 1-1 sessions are a gift to yourself, for yourself.

So, for every person aspiring to find the place where they truly belong and fully thrive: why not booking a session?

After all, the holiday season is upon us!

Knowing your Worth Workshops — Reconnecting people

I’ve always been fascinated and passionate about team dynamics.

They remind me of a painting – where each colour, each brush stroke, each shape represents a personality, a discussion, a collaboration.

This is why I wanted to feature both 1-1 sessions & workshops with Knowing your Worth!

The essence of the workshops is to engage everyone in shaping an environment that represents who they are – individually and collectively – and how they want to work together.

Like for the 1-1 sessions, I am both a 'revealer & an empowerer' ✨ helping teams reveal their limitations ✨ empowering everyone to create solutions as a collective ✨ with self-worth at the heart of it – like everything I do!

The workshops are a powerful way to bring teams together.

Mutual listening, discussions and exchanges, collective creation – all contribute to reconnecting people with one another.

By focusing on self-worth rather than solely on performance, the workshops bring unity and humanity to the group, as well as sustainable and long-term success.

So, for every team ready to redefine and nurture an environment where everyone can find their place and thrive, I’m just an email away!

Newsletter Third Edition - September 2025

Welcome to the third edition of Knowing your Worth Newsletter!

As the rentrée is in full swing, I took a trip down to memory lane, remembering how I felt as a kid around this time of the year. And this was definitely a mixed bag! From the comfort of going back to a routine after 2 months of ‘adventure’, to the excitement of having a new pencil case and school bag, or the worry of not being in the same class as my mates… But above all, the fear of not measuring up…

Each year at the end of summer, from the age of 6 onwards, I would be submerged by this angst about the year to come, and each year, without exception, I would keep asking my Mother: “Maman, tu crois que je serai à la hauteur cette année?”

So, it is quite naturally the theme I have decided to explore in this new edition, and more precisely, where this fear comes from, how to let go of it, and how being accompanied can be tremendously valuable.

I hope you find it inspiring!

The fear of not measuring up transcends gender, age, profession. We’ve all felt this way at least once in our life, whether from a young age with school, or as an adult, applying for jobs, starting a new position, launching a new project… We sometimes face it on recurring basis, or worse, on a daily one.

The unknown, the judgement, and other limiting factors

Fears are most often rooted in the ‘unknown’. So quite naturally, the fear of not measuring up is often linked with starting something new – whether the new academic year, taking on new responsibilities, or welcoming new team members.

Fears, and especially the fear of not measuring up, are then reinforced by various factors.

Starting with the pressures we tend to put ourselves under. These pressures come from the need to do things perfectly, stemming from yet another fear… the fear of failure. This in turn leads to the constant judgement – of ourselves, and sometimes even others – leading to more pressures, reinforcing the various fears. This can truly be relentless…

These pressures and fears can then be enhanced by various elements, including:

  • conditioning: “C-suite positions are reserved for a certain elite”;

  • limited thinking: “I tick all the requirements on this job ad, but only 4 out of 5 ‘nice-to-have’ skills. No need to apply, I will never get it”;

  • false beliefs – these myths that we construct in our heads, and which end up being our reality: “I have to say yes to every task, otherwise, I will never get promoted”; and finally,

  • low self-esteem, leading to this distorted view of ourselves.

All these limitations feed both the fears and the pressures. All combined, they become fortified walls, conscious or not, preventing professional – and personal – fulfilment.

Letting go – the first step to rediscover your worth

Breaking free from the fear of measuring up – and the underlying fear of failure – starts by letting go of these self-inflicted pressures and the constant judgement.

Letting go is one of the hardest things in life. But once you start realising that there is no such thing as failing or making mistakes – that everything we experience in life is about learning – it starts easing these pressures.

This mind shift allows you to start trusting yourself – your decisions, your intuition. This in turn reinforces your self-esteem.

You can start updating this distorted view of yourself and of what others might think of you.

Releasing the pressures allows you to start identifying these limitations – the false beliefs, the limited thinking… – and to take them down, brick by brick.

That is how you start re-discovering your worth. Step by step. Rome was not built in a day!

L’accompagnement – your special guide to fulfilment

It can sometimes feel daunting to look into these limitations. Or one might not know where to begin. This is why being accompanied can be tremendously valuable.

The French word l’accompagnement comes from the verb accompagner which means ‘act as a guide’. I love both the word and the concept. It’s like being on a hike: you have your own guide, who is very familiar with the ground, and is equipped with a torch light to show you where the bumps are – and that they aren’t as big as you thought! You then define together what is the best path to pass them safely and serenely – and the guide is just there, should you need an extra hand. But every step of the way is yours!

This is what my accompagnement is all about. Helping you revealing those bumps on the road, finding ways together to overcome them – by listening to you, with care and no judgement – so that you feel better on a daily basis. And this works both for individuals and teams!

Being accompanied doesn’t mean being weak or that there is something wrong with you. It is like an investment. On yourself. And what better return on investment than professional fulfilment?

So, for all the readers ready to reveal and overcome these limitations to unlock their potential and thrive, I am here, and I look forward to hearing from you!

~~~
That’s it for this third edition! I hope it offers some inspiration for a smooth and enjoyable rentrée.
As ever, do not hesitate to share more widely, and to comment on LinkedIn – always happy to exchange.
In the meantime, take good care, and looking forward to staying in touch.
Newsletter Second Edition - June 2025
Welcome to this second edition of Knowing your Worth Newsletter!
As the days are getting longer and sunnier, and summer is on everyone’s mind, I started to think about what it means in terms of professional fulfilment, and teams’ dynamics.
Summer is the time of the year most people look forward to – but it can also be stressful, bringing its share of pressures and challenges. I believe summertime is a fantastic opportunity to reflect, recharge and reset, both at the individual, and team levels.
In this edition, I share my take on these infamous ‘3Rs’, how essential they are to fully enjoying your summer, and how empowering this time of the year is.
I hope you enjoy it!
Summer means Vitamin D, weekends away, a long-awaited holiday, spending time with family and friends, going on an adventure… It also means wrapping up projects, managing the kids’ schedule after they finish school, being on top of that packing list / handover note… Summer can mean all these things.
Most importantly, summer is about breaking away from the routine and getting some rest. Quite often though, it’s precisely when we aim to relax and make the most of our time off, that everyday worries tend to catch up with us.
Leaving that unwanted extra baggage starts with one simple thing: reflecting. And it goes a long way – helping you to fully recharge, preparing the ground to reset properly… and thrive!
Before taking off: time to Reflect
Heading to the summer holiday is the perfect time to start reflecting on where you are at work and in general.
Reflecting doesn’t mean judging!
Reflecting means observing how the past 6 months have gone: your achievements, how you have felt, what might have been missing. There is no ‘right or wrong’ – just simple facts.
This applies to each of us, but also at a team level: what were the team’s successes, how does the collective and each individual feel, what could be done differently for everyone to thrive.
Taking the time to reflect doesn’t need to be a tedious or painful exercise, and it doesn’t have to span over days. The idea is to simply look back to celebrate your achievements, to be mindful of how you have been feeling, and to identify areas for improvements. And the ideal time to do so is just before the holiday – so you can take stock before your break.
It’s like a handover note to yourself! You know where everything stands, you have full clarity, and you can head to your holiday serene. At the team level, this could be discussed during a special team meeting – with why not some cakes / bubbles at the end?! – and this could even lead to a blueprint for la rentrée, when everyone is back to school.
The well-earned break: time to Recharge
Holidays are essential to recharge the batteries – to regain energy and mental space. But quite often, this extra time at hands can give way to ruminating thoughts – the little ‘hamster in a wheel’.
Hence the importance of freeing your mind before you take off, as this will help you to disconnect – to be fully in the moment, enjoying this well-deserved break.
Disconnecting creates the space to naturally gain new perspectives on your daily life. And as your batteries get in the green, you start getting new ideas. You feel inspired and energised by it all, ready to conquer the world!
La rentrée is not that dreaded moment anymore, but a formidable opportunity to reset, and change things for the better – both individually and collectively.
La rentrée: time to Reset and thrive!
La rentrée is the perfect time to identify and address the challenges that lie ahead.
At the individual level, it’s an opportunity to check whether these challenges still match your aspirations. As the holiday will have been a source of inspiration and renewed perspectives, you have the energy to take actions – actions that are right for you. Whether adjusting your work-life balance, applying for your dream job, or starting your own business.
At the team level, it’s an opportunity to build upon that pre-summer blueprint, to discuss the upcoming challenges, hearing everyone’s ideas and suggestions, establishing clear directions as a collective, and getting everyone on board, motivated, engaged, and happy – the recipe for success.
~~~

Summertime is a wonderful opportunity to nurture our professional and personal fulfilment. We often worry about the future, putting immense pressure on ourselves to do everything perfectly, when everything in life is about timing and being kind to ourselves. The future starts in the now, by creating the space for ourselves, and there couldn’t be a better time than summer to do so.

Taking the time to reflect ahead of your holiday will help you to disconnect, to fully recharge during your break. You will then be able to reset when back – without any pressure, just naturally and with serenity. As I mentioned at the beginning of this newsletter, summer is a very empowering time – and we all have what it takes, to make the most of it.

Get in touch

That’s it for this second edition! I hope it offers some inspiration for a most relaxing summer.

And if you need some extra beta-carotene vitamins or after-sun cream: the individual sessions and the workshops and seminars are the perfect pre-holiday prep or a post-holiday boost!

The workshops and seminars, which can last from a few hours to a couple of days, are designed to bring teams ever closer together. By focusing on communication and culture, they help team build an environment with a strong sense of direction, purpose and belonging, where everyone can express their creativity – all key for teams’ success.

As for the individual sessions: we all have the solutions in us, but the pressures we are under generally prevent us from seeing them, leading us to constantly judge ourselves. My approach is all about removing this judgement, to help you reveal these solutions and empower you to embrace your worth and thrive.

So, if you’d welcome some help setting yourself up for a relaxing holiday and a smooth rentrée, do not hesitate to get in touch.

Finally, and as ever, please feel free to share this newsletter with anyone who might be interested, and to add comments on LinkedIn if you wish!

Do look after yourself, have an amazing summer, and I look forward to hearing from you and keeping in touch.

Warmly,
Marie

Newsletter First Edition - April 2025

Welcome to the first edition of Knowing your Worth Newsletter!

Coming to you from sunny Normandy, where I have settled since the beginning of this year, just as I launched Knowing your Worth (good things always come at once!)

The launch was a proud and defining moment for me, and I’m excited to share with you more insight into this venture and what’s ahead.

I hope you enjoy it!

🌱 Knowing your Worth, the genesis

We lost my Father at the end of 2022, after he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was only 63, and very much looking forward to retiring.

This was a wake-up call. We all know and hear this, but it really hit me: every single day should be enjoyed to the fullest – as opposed to being ‘OK’ and looking forward to the weekend, the next holiday, retirement.

I joined the European Commission Energy Task Force in November 2022, less than 2 weeks after my Father’s passing. My first 6 months at the Commission coincided with the first 6 months of grief. A time where I felt like I was in a vortex, lost, and just about ‘floating around’.

The London Marathon in April 2023 was a turning point. Training for 3 months, raising £4K for the Pancreatic Cancer Charity, and crossing the finish line just over 5h: this was more than numbers and a race – it was the start of new phase: healing and moving forward.

I began to realise that, as incredible as it was to be part of the Task Force, something was not quite there: I started to feel I didn’t fit anymore, that it was not the right place for me.

Finding your right place is deeply connected to one essential element: knowing your worth.

It was precisely during my time at the Commission that I truly, and for the first time ever, became aware of my worth. This opened the door to a very empowering reckoning, and was followed with the decision to leave the Commission and launch my own venture.

Figuring out what this venture would be about took a bit of time, until I was struck by the obvious: helping people recognise their worth and find their happy place at work, to fully thrive!

Knowing your Worth, the essence

Once I became aware of my worth, I realised how empowering it is:

The way you see yourself – and the situations you are living – changes completely. You begin to see what belongs to you, what’s someone else’s baggage, and where egos come into play.

The decisions you make no longer come from a place of fear, resentment or anger. Which means no more ‘abdicating’ or ‘fighting’. You’re doing what is right for you.

You become the Creator and the Master of your Happiness. The sky is your limit!

That is how I’ve been feeling since embracing my worth. And that is what I want to share!

Looking back, I would have been so grateful for someone to tell younger Marie:

Hey, relax, everything is fine! You don’t need to prove to yourself that you can prove to others that you can prove to yourself’.

Or

Yes, it’s important that your boss appreciates what you are doing and shows it, but you do not need his/her recognition to be fulfilled: this should come from you first’.

These are just a couple of examples – and that would have certainly avoided me experiencing a burnout in my late twenties, and shocking low confidence levels until my mid-thirties.

This is why I created Knowing your Worth: to be that very hand, that person who offers fresh perspectives, new angles, and the keys to unlock solutions we all carry within us – but that sometimes remain just out of sight.

📆 Knowing your Worth, upcoming event

On Thursday, April 24, I’m hosting a free lunchtime webinar: Knowing your Worth : the Path to Success and Happiness.

  • Each other – fostering environments where everyone can lean on and learn from one another.

All leading to success and happiness!
